帰国前に、今回の滞在で感じたことをどこかに残しておきたくて、サンフランシスコの新聞社へ投稿してみました。内容は以下です。
「語学留学の利点」
私は45歳の日本人女性です。今回、英語の向上のためアメリカへ行き、日本とは異なる多くの経験をしました。また人々は私と丁寧に関わって下さいました。このよい経験は私を楽しい気持ちにさせ英語も上達にもつながりました。今私は日本へ帰ろうとしています。アメリカ生活は本当に楽しかったので、私は少しさみしいです。しかし帰国した後には、「本を使った勉強は必ずしも必要ではなく、本を使って一生懸命勉強することなく新しい体験が出来る」と日本で暮らす人々に伝えることが出来るでしょう。ちなみに日本の最近のニュースによると、若い人の留学希望率は50パーセント以下だそうですが、私は彼らに、「あなたはきっと楽しい体験が出来るよ！」と伝えたいです。

I am 45-year Japanese woman. To improve my English, I moved to the USA, and I’ve had a lot of different experiences from Japan, also people who live here treated me well. This good treatment made me happy, and helped improve my English. Now I am going back to Japan, I’m sad because I really enjoyed my life in the USA, especially learning English. However, when I return, I can tell people that it’s not a requirement to study English in front of a desk, getting new experience will create new knowledge without studying hardly just by books. According to the recent news in Japan, the number of young people who want to go abroad is less than fifty present, but I want to tell them that they’ll be happy if they do it.
