イギリスで何をしてきたのだろう。

ホームページに載せようと思うのだけれど、英語の文章も少しほしいので
あらためてリチャードに少し質問したら、瞬時に返事が届いた。

以下リバプールのマジカル・ミステリー・ツアーでどこに行ったのか？
の質問の回答と感想。

I will try to answer your questions as best as I can.

The MM Tour took us to all 4 Beatles homes of their
childhood-or as close as possible, particularly Paul's
and John's on Menlove Avenue,Woolton.
It also took us to Penny Lane and Eddie showed us all
the 'Barber shop' mentioned in the song.

We also visited the gates of 'Strawberry Fields',
Eddie showing us pictures of the visits made by John &
Yoko and Yoko & Sean.

We went past the churchyard where Paul and John met　in 1957,
in Woolton.

We visited the Cavern last as you know but　this is not the
original Cavern, but is an exact replica of the demolished club.
We also visited sites that Paul had performed　at recently-near
the docks, and we travelled past the Liverpool Academy of Performing Arts, largely sponsored by Paul and his fund raising efforts.

I cannot remember exactly why we laughed at Eddie' s jokes ir 'quips' becuase there were so many.

I thought the Beatles Story was excellent in that it was and
is as honest as it could possibly be, totally comprehensive
and, of course, very interesting and absorbing.

If we appeared to go through too quickly it is may be due to the fact that we all know much about The Beatles anyhow.

というわけで、駆け足でビートルズの街を見て回った。特に記念館・
ビートルズストーリーの英語の掲示物をすべて理解できれば、彼らの
すべてが理解できたのだろうけれど、ゆっくり見て回る体力と英語力
がなかった。
高校生の時に読んだ伝記や雑誌の記事の記憶が頼りだった。
