最近、やたらと古い懐かしい曲をパソコンに入れ込んでいる。

で、今までずっとわからずに頭の片隅へと追いやっていた歌。
それを少しずつではあるけれど、人に聴いて曲名や歌い手を
特定しては自己満足している。
その中で、どうしてもわからない曲があった。
80年代の曲で、女性が一人でささやくように歌う。
伴奏はあるかないかくらい静かな感じ。
ドレミでいうと
ラシドミ　ラシドミ　ラシレド　レドレド
、これが繰り返す。

そういった、ちょっと頼りないヒントを
2ちゃんねるの曲名を尋ねるスレに投げかけてみた。
すると1時間たたぬうちに、レスが！
Suzanne Vegaが歌うTom's Diner？
早速調べてみると、ビンゴ、その通り。
歌も淡々としたリズムだけれど、歌詞も淡々としている。
トム、という単語がタイトルに入っているのは何気なく覚えていた。
小学生だった葉には歌詞の一つもわからなかったけれど、
大人になって歌詞の意味を理解した上でも、いい曲だな〜と思う。
