Mt. Fuji is the Symbol of Japan

Mt. Fuji located in the center of the Japanese archipelago is the highest mountain (3776 meters=12388.45 feet) in Japan. There are not higher mountains around Mt. Fuji, so people have a distant view of it, even from the Pacific Ocean. Moreover, the beautiful shape of Mt. Fuji changes its scenery due to the seasons, weather and hour. Therefore, many artists, amateur painters and photographers have taken it as an object for long time, it is also printed on the Japanese money.
On the other hand, although Mt. Fuji has exquisite shape, it is a silent, dangerous volcano; it can erupt at any time, because it is on the biggest active fault in Japan. Indeed, until the Edo era (1600-1867), Mt. Fuji had erupted repeatedly, the last time being in 1707. Whenever it erupted, its volcanic ash covered a radius of approximately 200 miles. Moreover, the ash covered the sky for many months after. As a result, mighty famines eventuated from the eruptions. Consequently, people have prayed Mt. Fuji to be calm in due course it became a mountain of religion. From those two reasons, Mt. Fuji has meanings, "No. 1" and "luck".
The area around Mt. Fuji, includes five lakes and a national park. From a geological, meteorological, biological and botanical perspective, Mt. Fuji is a valuable mountain that still harbors many enigmas. For example, in the sea of trees on the foot of it, there are a lot of unknown caves, and a compass does not work there. Many dead have been discovered there.
All in all, Mt. Fuji, loved, honored and awed by many people, is the suitable symbol of Japan.

[Assignment 3] Draft #1

It was Coming

About fifteen years ago, I frequently enjoyed going on a journey by motorcycle with camping tent. One time, during my journey alone, I joined to my friends group.
Unfortunately, a strong typhoon was approaching to Japan at that time; therefor we had to find a safe place that we can escape from terrible rain and wind. Presently, we found a nice place, so we were able to pitch camp under a roof. Although the wind became harder and harder, we was enjoying such an unusual situation. We cooked and ate dinner, drank alcohol, then went into our sleeping bags.
At late night, it was nearly dawn, while we were sleeping deeply, we suddenly awaked in the darkness but all at once. Nobody talked because everybody sensed something was coming to us. We couldn't move, nor speak, we just concentrated our ears. Then I realized that it was standing in the front of my tent.
However, the place was in mountains. The road didn't lead from our place, and typhoon was coming. I couldn't supposed that a human comes without vehicles.
It, the something, unexpectedly started to beat at my tent. The cloth of tent bended to inside, to near my face. Then it went around my tent as it beated. Next, it aheaded to my friend' tent, and did the same action.
After it had gone somewhere, my friend called my name. Since I didn't know that they were awaked, my friend calling relive me. Indeed, we get off our tent to make sure what it was, but we couldn't find anything.
